Kurikulum sekolah diinformasikan oleh Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences theory. Gardner posits that there are eight distinct intelligences that people utilize. At The New School we appreciate Gardner's theory because we believe that acknowledging the complexity of intelligence is crucial to a successful education. These are (in no particular order):

Musical
Sensitivity to music, rhythm, sounds in the environment. Working with music in the background, writing lyrics, speaking rhythmically, playing instruments.

Kinesthetic
Body awareness, using the body effectively. Building things, physical activity, hands-on learning, role playing, communicating with body language.

Interpersonal
Understanding and interacting with others. Group activities, seminars, dialogues, participating in clubs, committees.

Intrapersonal
Understanding oneself, reflecting, intuiting. Reading, writing, drawing, independent projects, keeping a journal.

Logical/Mathematical
Reasoning, calculating, analyzing, thinking conceptually and abstractly. Exploring patterns and relationships, experimenting, solving puzzles, investigating, using logic.

Linguistic
Using words effectively. Reading, writing, speaking, playing word games, making presentations.

Spatial
Thinking in terms of physical space, awareness of the environment. Drawing, doing jigsaw puzzles, mapmaking, designing.

Naturalistic
Discriminating among living things, sensitivity to the natural world. Scientific pursuits.
